John M. Porter, DDS

Dr. Porter has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery in Indiana since 1976. After earning his undergraduate degree and dental degree from Indiana University, he completed his oral and maxillofacial training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

During his career, Dr. Porter has received hospital appointments at the St. Vincent Hospital Health Care Center, Community Hospitals, William S. Major Hospital and the Indiana Surgery Center. He is past-chairman of the Department of Dentistry/Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for Community Hospitals of Indiana.

Continuing Education

Staying updated on the latest advancements in oral surgery and dental implants is a priority for Dr. Porter. This is evident by the extensive continuing education seminars and conferences he attends. Recent course topics have included dental lasers, dental implant techniques, advanced cardiac life support, advanced dental restorations and CPR.

Founding Director of the Indianapolis Study Club

Dr. Porter is the founding director of the Indianapolis Study Club, an affiliate of the nationally recognized Seattle Study Club. The purpose of the Indianapolis Study Club is to expand and improve dental treatment planning skills and total case management through an educational curriculum that focuses on elevating professional expertise in dentistry so that the members can offer the highest level of dental care to their patients.

Dr. Porter lives in Zionsville with his wife Nancy. He enjoys reading and watching sports, especially the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts.
